The duration of this assignment overall is 45 working days.
Consultant type required
Consultancy Firm
Responsibility for Logistics arrangements and Costs
Save the children will pay the consultant fee in a lump sum and will not reimburse any incurred costs during the assignment. The consultant will cover their own Logistical arrangements, costs; including food, accommodation, local transport and all cost associated with data collection work and whole activities.
Taxation Provisions
The consultancy firm shall be responsible for all taxes arising from the consultancy in line with the local Tax regulations applicable at the SCI contracting office.
Travel requirements
The consultancy firm will cover all travel costs (tickets) and arrange local travel to field sites.
Security requirements
The consultancy firm will comply with standard of Save the Children Security procedures, including the completion of SCI online security training (applicable to international consultants) prior to travel to Somalia.

Qualifications & Requirements
Professional quality and Expertise
The following are the minimum requirements for the Consultant Firm to be considered for carrying out the assignment.
•
Minimum 8 years leading complex, gender-sensitive and vulnerability assessments in Fragile and Conflict-Affected States (FCAS). Experience in Somalia or comparable Horn of Africa contexts strongly preferred.
•
Strong track record in gender–disability intersectional research, explicitly using a feminist analytical framework (evident in past reports).
•
Expertise in designing and leading safe, ethical qualitative research with women who have experienced GBV and persons with diverse disabilities.
•
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
•
Demonstrable, certified experience in ethical research with vulnerable populations, including survivor-centred approaches and PSEA.
KEY PROFESSIONAL STAFF REQUIREMENT

Minimum Qualification and professional
experience:
Technical Team Lead
•
Team Lead — qualifications as above, with proven women affairs/studies/GESI leadership.
•
Gender & GBV Specialist— a senior Somali national or international expert with deep expertise in gender analysis, GBV prevention/response, and women’s economic rights in the Somali context.
•
Disability Inclusion Specialist with demonstrated experience addressing the needs of women and girls with disabilities, including intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.
•
Quantitative Data Analyst skilled in disaggregating data by multiple axes and running intersectional analysis.
