Role Summary

Blue Light Company is seeking an experienced

Sports and Stadium Management Specialist

to provide technical and strategic leadership for the professional operation, programming and commercial development of Mogadishu Sports Village.

The specialist will support the establishment of modern stadium-management systems, improve sports and public-use programmes, strengthen operational capacity and help position the Sports Village as a safe, accessible and financially sustainable national sports facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement stadium operations and sports-management plans.
  • Establish policies, procedures and international-standard operating systems.
  • Advise management on facility utilization, sports programming and commercial development.
  • Coordinate football matches, tournaments, training programmes and community sporting activities.
  • Develop annual calendars for sports, fitness, recreational and public events.
  • Support ticketing, booking, access-control and customer-service systems.
  • Develop revenue opportunities through facility rentals, memberships, sponsorships, advertising and events.
  • Prepare match-day and event-management plans covering security, staffing, crowd control, emergency response and facility readiness.
  • Strengthen coordination with sports federations, clubs, government institutions, sponsors and event organizers.
  • Monitor stadium safety, safeguarding, accessibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop service standards and performance indicators for stadium operations.
  • Train and mentor operations, facilities, ticketing and event-management personnel.
  • Conduct operational assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare budgets, technical reports, business cases and management updates.
  • Support the long-term development and sustainability of Mogadishu Sports Village.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Stadium or Venue Management, Business Administration, Facility Management, Event Management or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
  • At least seven years of relevant professional experience in sports, stadium, venue or major-event management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or advising stadiums, sports complexes, major public facilities or large-scale sporting events.
  • Strong knowledge of stadium operations, sports programming, match-day management, ticketing, crowd management and commercial development.
  • Experience developing operational procedures, budgets, performance systems and revenue strategies.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Good understanding of safety, security, safeguarding and emergency preparedness.
  • Proficiency in relevant management systems.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
