The Site Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating construction andrehabilitation projects implemented by DCD Organization, ensuring works are completed on time, withinbudget, and to the required technical and quality standards. The role requires close coordinationwithcontractors, community members, local authorities, and the DCD program team. Key Duties and Responsibilities

 Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction/rehabilitation activities at project sites.  Prepare technical designs, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates.  Ensure construction works comply with approved designs, technical specifications, and quality standards.  Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress and technical reports.  Monitor contractor performance and verify work completed against payment certificates.  Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards on all project sites.  Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders during project implementation.  Identify and report any delays, risks, or technical challenges, and propose solutions.  Maintain accurate site records, including site diaries, material usage, and inspection reports.  Support procurement processes by providing technical specifications and evaluating bids where required.  Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

 Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field (a Diploma withsubstantial relevant experience may also be considered).

 Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience as a Site Engineer, preferably with an Organization, construction firm, or development organization.  Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality/safety standards.  Proficiency in engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and MS Office applications.  Demonstrated experience preparing BOQs, technical drawings, and site progress reports.  Excellent communication, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.  Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.  Fluency in Somali and English (spoken and written) is required.  Willingness to travel to and work from project sites in Dhanane and surrounding areas.  Somali national with a valid national ID and, where applicable, professional registration/license.
