Role objectives
The Senior Associate Civil Engineer, under the supervision of the Resident Engineer, will perform the following key functions:
Stakeholder Coordination
• Facilitate collaboration among project stakeholders, including State Government institutions, municipalities, PIUs, and local communities, to ensure smooth implementation of project activities by contractors.
Design and Supervision
• Study design drawings, specifications, and the bill of quantities.
• Receive guidance from the Resident Engineer for daily supervision of contractors’ work.
Support to Field Teams
• Assist field teams, including material testing staff, surveyors, and work inspectors, in performing their duties effectively.
• Organize the collection of material samples for laboratory testing and oversee the testing under the supervision of the Material Engineer. 4. Project Safeguard Implementation
• Support the PIU team in implementing and monitoring environmental and social management plans and other project safeguard instruments.
Quality Control and Monitoring
• Conduct daily monitoring and verification of the quality of works performed by contractors.
• Measure completed work quantities to assist in the payment certification process.
Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) Compliance
• Ensure compliance with HSSE requirements and procedures on-site.
Field Staff Management
• Assist in managing field staff under the guidance of the Resident Engineer.
Project reporting
This role reports to the line manager.
