The role includes overseeing the academic, research and community service programs, promoting faculty development, ensuring compliance with academic standards, and fostering a research-driven environment. The dean plays a critical role in enhancing the reputation of the college and ensuring that it meets the shariah and law education needs of the nation. Duties and responsibilities ▪ Lead the College of Shariah and Law in achieving its academic and research objectives in line with the University’s mission. ▪ Promote a culture of academic excellence, encouraging innovative teaching and research. ▪ Ensure the alignment of the college’s goals with the broader institutional strategy. ▪ Oversee the design, review, and updating of === Skills & Qualifications === PERSONAL SPECIFICATION EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: ▪ A Doctorate or doctoral candidate in the field of law or a related field. ▪ At least 5 years of academic leadership experience, with a strong record of teaching, research, community service, and administration. ▪ Leadership experience and ability to lead teams in academic & industry settings. ▪ Extensive teaching and research experience in higher education with ability to manage a range of educational processes, including planning and continuous improvement of programs and courses. ▪ Publications in the law/shariah fields and related literature in areas relevant to the vision, mission and goals of the University of Hargeisa. ▪ The candidate should have at least two articles/papers published on reputable journals. ▪ Ability and willingness to provide assertive advocacy on behalf of the University. ▪ Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills. ▪ Evidence of successful management of staff, partners --- About Hargeisa --- Hargeisa is the capital and largest city of Somaliland, serving as the region's main economic and administrative hub.
