Weris Clinic and Pharmacy is a mental health and psychosocial support facility providing psychological, psychiatric, counselling, assessment, and community-based mental health services.

The clinic is seeking a qualified and compassionate

Psychologist

to join its multidisciplinary team and contribute to the provision of high-quality psychological assessment, counselling, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and mental health support for children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Purpose of the Position

The Psychologist will provide professional psychological services to clients presenting with a range of emotional, behavioural, developmental, and psychosocial difficulties.

The position will also contribute to early identification of mental health and developmental concerns, psychological assessments,, family interventions, referrals, and mental health awareness activities.

F. Documentation and Confidentiality

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Assess emotional, behavioural, developmental, learning, and psychosocial difficulties.
  • Use appropriate psychological screening and assessment tools within the scope of professional training.
  • Prepare clear and professional psychological assessment reports.
  • Identify clients who require psychiatric, medical, educational, or other specialist assessment and make appropriate referrals.
  • Provide individual, family, and/or group counselling as appropriate.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions according to professional competence.
  • Support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, behavioural problems, adjustment difficulties, grief, relationship problems, and other psychosocial challenges.
  • Develop individualized intervention and follow-up plans.
  • Monitor clients' progress and modify interventions when necessary.
  • Anger managements
  • Conduct developmental, behavioural, and psychosocial assessments.
  • Identify possible learning, behavioural, emotional, and neurodevelopmental difficulties.
  • Provide counselling and behavioural interventions for children and adolescents.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Provide parenting guidance and psychoeducation.
  • Support the clinic's school assessment and referral services.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, medical officers, nurses, and other professionals at Weris Clinic.
  • Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate referral pathways for clients requiring specialized services.
  • Contribute to coordinated treatment and follow-up plans.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and families.
  • Participate in mental health awareness sessions, seminars, and community outreach activities.
  • Support educational activities for schools, parents, teachers, and community groups.
  • Contribute to the development of mental health educational materials.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
  • Document assessments, interventions, follow-up sessions, and referrals appropriately.
  • Maintain strict professional confidentiality and respect clients' privacy.
  • Follow Weris Clinic's policies, ethical standards, safeguarding procedures, and professional guidelines.

Reporting

The Psychologist will report to the

Clinic Director / Consultant Psychiatrist

and will work as part of the Weris Clinic multidisciplinary mental health team.

Safeguarding and Professional Conduct

The Psychologist is expected to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology from a recognized university.
  • Additional professional training in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical psychology, or a related field.
  • Relevant practical experience providing psychological or counselling services.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice.
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in psychological assessment and report writing.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Training in CBT or other evidence-based psychological interventions.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary mental health team.
  • Experience in school-based mental health services.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care, GBV response, or psychosocial support.
  • Strong counselling and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Good clinical reasoning and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to conduct structured assessments.
  • Ability to write clear clinical reports.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
