Since our founding in 2012 we have impacted over 78,000 individuals from impoverished communities across Kenya. About the Position - Salary Scale ( KES 85,000 - KES 90,000) Job Summary Provide lead in the general development and implementation of WOVEN program including budget management, development and implementation of the program strategies. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Programme Development and Management Develop/review WOVEN program implementation strategies and plans together with the Deputy Director of Programs, Executive Director and President Develop/review and Implement Mentorship Program for WOVEN Scholars Develop/review student Leadership Program to create and cultivate leadership among the students as part of the Program strategies Assisting in the formulation of socially sustainable and strategic plans that enhance and foster the organization’s goals Develop/review curriculum and educate on life skills Participate in the writing of program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services. Programme implementation Develop and nurture personal relationships with college students in a bid to identify their skills and talents and keep them on track to graduate in four years with an undergraduate degree. Schedule monthly virtual meetings with student leaders together with Guidance and Counseling Lead to plan activities, discuss any student challenges and upcoming events including school break activities Link students with organizations and programs meant to enhance their career development Coordinate with Counseling Services lead to ensure mental health needs of WOVEN students are being addressed and catered to. Organizing students’ community development projects including; voluntary initiatives as part of creating practical mentorship opportunities for the students. Oversee implementation of career path assessments and coaching for new students to ensure they select appropriate courses Take lead in the program beneficiary verification and selection Financial Management Development of Program budgets Ensure that all the documents submitted to finance for payment meet the audit threshold. Ensure accountable and efficient utilization of the Program’s funds. Exercise sound judgment to ensure project expenses are reasonable, allocable, and prudent. Track budget utilization against approved Program budgets to ensure proper budget control Reporting and Monitoring and Evaluation Ensure verification of all data provided by the students and Program Assistant(s)/Officers before submission for approval Write descriptive activity reports and provide supporting documents for activity expenditures. Development of quarterly, annual, and activity narrative reports highlighting Program intervention Contribute towards development of the annual students year book highlighting outstanding stories, experiences, achievements, and campus life of the students Avail program highlights on a day by day basis via available communication platforms Respond to requests by US Based staff for collection of photos and information on the program to be used for fundraising and program update purposes. Participate in regular Program Progress Reviews, including status reporting, risk and issues identification and mitigation, impact assessments etc. Participate in development of monitoring tools and ensuring their implementation to monitor and track Program progress. Strategic Organizational Development Be familiar with the Kenyan operations and budgets. Work together with the staff to come up with creative new ways to do the work that will improve efficiencies in operations as well as finances. Identify and Participate in resource mobilization efforts which are to the benefit the program, including grant applications, communications content and preparation of funding presentations Partnerships and Networking Identify and Create a database of strategic partners and stakeholders relevant to the Program. Ensure the Program is introduced and known at specific institutions where beneficiaries are supported. Plan for and participate in networking events relevant to the Program goals.
