Emaad Construction is seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and results-driven

Production and Equipment Manager

to oversee our manufacturing operations, fleet, and heavy machinery. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality ready-mix concrete and block production while maximizing plant efficiency, implementing rigorous preventive maintenance, and leading a disciplined field team.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic cost management, driving productivity while strictly adhering to safety and quality standards.

Strategic Field Leadership & Team Development

  • Daily Scheduling: Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities to consistently hit volume targets and satisfy client timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce strict product quality control through continuous testing, precise batch measurements, and raw material inspections (aggregates, cement, admixtures) according to approved product standards.
  • Yield Optimization: Maximize resource utilization, improve plant productivity, and aggressively minimize raw material waste and downtime.
  • Supply Chain Liaison: Coordinate seamlessly with Sales, Logistics, and Procurement departments to align production with delivery schedules and customer commitments.
  • Asset Management: Oversee the operation, utilization, and performance of batching plants, block manufacturing machinery, delivery trucks, transit mixers, and heavy earthmoving equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop, schedule, and execute robust Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) schedules to maximize equipment reliability and completely mitigate unexpected breakdowns.
  • Logistics & Fuel Audit: Closely monitor fuel consumption patterns, track individual vehicle transit costs, and optimize machinery efficiency to lower operational overhead.
  • Inventory & Spares Control: Maintain an accurate, up-to-date log of spare parts, specialized tools, and maintenance supplies to guarantee zero operational disruptions during critical repairs.
  • Safety Culture: Foster a zero-harm site culture by organizing regular safety briefings (toolbox talks), conducting risk assessments, and enforcing the strict use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analyses for any site incidents, equipment failures, material non-conformities, or client complaints, and immediately roll out corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Financial Oversight: Prepare, manage, and optimize the annual production and maintenance budgets.
  • Cost-Reduction Metrics: Analyze operational data to pinpoint inefficiencies, track cost-per-cubic-meter for concrete, and implement lean manufacturing workflows to boost profitability.
  • Data Reporting: Generate transparent, data-driven daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports detailing output volumes, machinery downtime, maintenance expenses, and labor efficiency.
  • Crew Supervision: Lead, train, and manage plant operators, heavy-truck drivers, mechanical technicians, and site laborers, ensuring high accountability and team discipline.
  • Performance Tracking: Conduct routine performance evaluations, identify technical skill gaps, and implement targeted training programs to multi-skill the workforce.

Core Competencies & Soft Skills

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration (coupled with extensive industrial/factory experience).
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of direct management experience in a production role within ready-mix concrete production, concrete batching plants, block manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of concrete mix designs, aggregate grading, and the mechanical functions of block-making machinery and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintenance Expertise: Proven track record in handling industrial machinery maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, and scheduling heavy vehicle servicing.
  • Leadership: Exceptional command and presence in the field; ability to motivate, coach, and manage a diverse workforce under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret production data and make rapid, high-stakes operational decisions.
  • Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali . Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across management, sales, and field teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically advanced Excel for data tracking) and experience utilizing ERP/MRP software for inventory and maintenance logging.
  • Resilience: Proven ability to work under high pressure, manage competing field priorities, and adapt quickly to shifting project schedules.
