World Vision International (WVI) is recruiting a POOL DRIVERS (On-Need / Periodic Basis) for their Somaliland office. (On-Need / Periodic Basis)

The Role

Provide timely and safe driving and courier/liaison support to field team operations as required on a pool/on-need basis. Drive authorized personnel to destinations as instructed, and support day-to-day movement of documents and materials. Maintain strict adherence to safety and convoy procedures.

  • Drive project personnel and other authorized persons to assigned destinations.
  • Collect, transport, and deliver documents (and other approved items) to designated locations.
  • Ensure punctuality, good time-keeping, and adherence to planned travel schedules.
  • Ensure vehicle safety and that required safety/security equipment is always available in the vehicle.
  • Alert management immediately of any shortage or absence of safety/security equipment.
  • Conduct regular radio checks and strictly follow convoy procedures.
  • Comply with all traffic regulations and relevant codes of conduct.
  • Monitor the vehicle’s condition and report any malfunctions/repair needs promptly.
  • Facilitate vehicle repairs and assist with spare part identification/acquisition when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of the assigned vehicle.
  • Monitor the security context and provide updates and advice to field teams.
  • Provide assistance to administration staff as and when required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle/equipment records.
  • Ensure monthly fuel reconciliations for all assigned vehicles (as applicable).
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
  • Must adhere to set security standards
  • Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Th ese position s are on-need/periodic and drivers will be called upon based need.

with regular travel to other field locations.
