The MEAL Officer provides essential support to MCDO programs by ensuring the effective roll-out of the MEAL system at the field level. The role focuses on building staff capacity, strengthening accountability mechanisms, and ensuring programs meet Minimum Operating Standards. The officer ensures that projects deliver high-quality results to beneficiaries and donors, while institutionalizing learning for continuous improvement

- Implement Monitoring & Evaluation Systems Establish and maintain a monitoring and evaluation system that meets project management and donor requirements, ensuring compliance with MEAL standards.
- Support Project Implementation Work closely with project teams to assess implementation progress, build staff capacity, and facilitate the collection of high-quality data under the supervision of Executive Director and Projects Coordinator.
- Programme Design & Reporting Contribute to programme and project design, funding proposals, and donor reporting, including the development of theories of change and logical frameworks.
- Accountability & CHS/FCRM Integration Mainstream Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and Feedback & Complaints Response Mechanisms (FCRM) into projects to strengthen accountability to communities and stakeholders.
- Monitoring Practices Review, advise, and adjust monitoring practices based on log frames and project monitoring plans to ensure compliance with donor requirements and MEAL standards.
- Survey & Evaluation Activities Participate in the design and implementation of surveys, including baseline studies, evaluations, and assessments. Supervise and train enumerators as required.
- Data Management & Analysis Establish and manage project databases, conduct data analysis, and regularly update project deliverables and indicator performance.
- Knowledge Sharing & Learning Present data collection results in concise and impactful formats, including executive summaries, photo/video documentation, conclusions, and recommendations. Contribute to lessons learned and adaptive management processes.
- Field Monitoring & Documentation Conduct regular joint project site visits, providing detailed information for narrative reporting and documentation to ensure alignment of activities with proposals and budgets.
- Learning Events Support project learning events such as review meetings, action research, and exchange visits to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Reporting & Compliance Collaborate with programme and finance staff to review and prepare monthly, quarterly, and final narrative reports, ensuring alignment with project indicators, processes, and frameworks such as the Project Management Cycle Standards, Evaluation Guide, Measuring Success Framework, and Impact Measurement Frameworks.
- Planning & Review Contribute to annual, quarterly, and monthly project and programme planning and review meetings.
- Representation Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, conferences, and donor visits as required.
