Logo Design Contest Guidelines
Background
The Building Leadership and Opportunities for Marginalized Women and Girls (BLOOM)supports the
empowerment of marginalized young people, particularly young women and adolescent girls with
limited access to education and employment, to grow their skills, confidence, and economic
independence through vocational training, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and dignified work.
BLOOM is in the process of designing a logo to represent the project across the three participating
countries:
Somaliland, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
This visual identity will reflect BLOOM’s mission to strengthen economic inclusion for women and girls’
economic empowerment through leadership development, self-advocacy, and access to vocational
skills and livelihood opportunities. The logo will serve as a unifying visual identity for the youth
movement, strengthening recognition, fostering a sense of ownership among participants, and
supporting consistent communication across activities while remaining fully aligned with World Vision
and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) branding requirements.
This document outlines the official requirements and rules for the logo design competition. By
entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these rules.
Design Guidelines and Requirements
The branding logo should reflect the heart of BLOOM’s design: inclusion and gender equality, growth,
resilience, opportunity, shifting attitudes and beliefs, and the journey from potential to
productivity.
The logo should symbolize transformation and aspiration, capturing as many of the following ideas as
possible:
- Economic empowerment and self-reliance
- Gender inclusion and equal opportunity
- Growth and new beginnings
- Skills development and hands-on learning
- Positive community support and mentorship
- Hope, confidence, and forward movement
The logo should communicate the excitement of starting new pathways toward sustainable
livelihoods, where young people have the opportunity to learn, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to
their community.
The final product (logo) may be featured on official project materials, including communication
products, the project website, training materials, and at events. It may also be used on promotional
and visibility items such as shirts, banners, stickers, and other branded merchandise produced under
the project.
The logo must be clearly distinguishable from World Vision branding used across the three Field
Offices and from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) branding. It must not create confusion, suggest affiliation
or institutional representation, or compete with existing organizational branding, and must comply
with the branding requirements outlined in the Contribution Agreement
