Founded in 1991, Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a national and international solidarity NGO that has worked in France and around the world for over 30 years. SIF acts wherever there are humanitarian and social needs, delivering emergency relief, development programs and advocacy campaigns without proselytism or discrimination.
The SIF Kenya & Somalia Mission was registered in 2012 and currently implements humanitarian and development programs in Education and Child Welfare, Food Security and Livelihoods, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) across Kenya and Somalia.
Job Summary
SIF is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Officer to manage overall logistics operations in Nairobi, supporting SIF programs and staff. Reporting directly to the Head of Mission, the successful candidate will ensure logistics activities comply with Kenyan regulations, SIF procedures and donor guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement: Manage all Nairobi office procurement, purchasing requests and supplier contracts in line with SIF and donor procedures.
- Stock Management: Oversee inventories, storage, asset/equipment tracking and Goods Received Notes.
- Fleet Management: Coordinate vehicles, drivers, travel and accommodation bookings, and vehicle maintenance and safety equipment.
- Premises Management: Ensure office, guesthouse and warehouse facilities are functional, secure and well maintained.
- Team Supervision: Supervise drivers and support staff, ensuring compliance with SIF procedures and safety standards.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit timely Monthly Logistics Reports (MLR) and support procurement planning.
Requirements:
- University degree in Procurement, Logistics or Business Administration
- At least 3 years of relevant NGO experience;
- Professional certification in procurement/supply chain is required.
- Prior experience managing teams and building staff capacity.
- Proactive, honest, and highly organized, with strong planning, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-changing, cross-cultural environment with minimal supervision.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
