Background
Wamo Relief and Rehabilitation Services (WRRS) is a Somali national humanitarian and development organization working to support vulnerable and crisis-affected communities through integrated humanitarian and development programming.
WRRS is implementing a sustainable development and resource management project in Afmadow District, Lower Juba, aimed at strengthening livelihoods, resilience and sustainable management of natural resources among vulnerable communities.
WRRS is seeking two qualified and motivated Livelihood Officers to support effective implementation of livelihood activities and contribute to improved and sustainable livelihood opportunities for participating communities.
Position Purpose
The Livelihood Officers will support the planning, implementation and follow-up of livelihood activities and provide practical assistance to individuals, households and community groups to strengthen their livelihoods and economic opportunities.
The position will work closely with communities and project staff to facilitate appropriate training, mentoring, livelihood support and linkages with relevant services and markets, while contributing to quality implementation, monitoring and learning.

Key Responsibilities
A. Livelihood Programme Implementation
•
Support planning and implementation of livelihood activities in accordance with approved plans, targets and procedures.
•
Support community mobilisation and identification of participants in line with agreed project criteria.
•
Provide practical field-level support to participants engaged in livelihood and income-generating activities.
•
Conduct regular field visits to follow up implementation progress and identify emerging challenges.
B. Training, Mentoring and Capacity Building
•
Support the delivery of practical training on entrepreneurship, business management, financial literacy and sustainable livelihood practices.
•
Identify capacity gaps and support participants to address challenges affecting their livelihood activities.
•
Facilitate peer learning and sharing of relevant practices and experiences among participants and community groups.
C. Community Engagement and Coordination
•
Build constructive relationships with community members, local leaders, community structures and relevant stakeholders.
•
Facilitate community meetings, consultations and awareness activities related to livelihood interventions.
•
Promote inclusive participation of women, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
•
Coordinate with relevant local authorities, technical staff and service providers to support effective implementation.
D. Monitoring, Data Collection and Reporting
•
Collect and maintain accurate information on participants, activities, outputs and progress.
•
Work closely with the MEAL Coordinator to support monitoring, data collection, verification and reporting.
•
Follow up participants progress and provide timely information on achievements, challenges and emerging needs.
•
Prepare regular activity updates, field reports and other programme documentation as required.
•
Contribute to programme reviews, assessments, learning activities and evaluations.
F. Learning, Sustainability and Accountability
•
Document lessons learned, good practices, challenges and recommendations from livelihood activities.
•
Support participants and community groups to strengthen the sustainability of livelihood initiatives.
•
Promote approaches that are appropriate to the local context and responsive to the needs of vulnerable communities.
•
Ensure participant feedback and concerns are appropriately documented and referred through established mechanisms.
•
Promote accountability, safeguarding, inclusion and responsible implementation throughout livelihood activities.
