Purpose of Job

The Joint Support Operations Centre (JSOC) Officer reports to the Senior Joint Support Operations Centre Officer and supports the coordination, monitoring, and reporting of integrated Mission support activities within the Mission area. The incumbent contributes to situational awareness, information management, operational support coordination, and crisis monitoring in support of Mission sustainment, operational continuity, and integrated support service delivery. The Officer assists in facilitating coordination between civilian, police, and military support components to support effective Mission support operations and the implementation of the Mission’s mandate in a complex and high-risk operational environment.

Main Functions

• Supports the coordination, monitoring, and reporting of integrated Mission support activities within the Mission area.
• Contributes to situational awareness through the collection, consolidation, analysis, and dissemination of operational support information relevant to Mission sustainment, operational continuity, and integrated support service delivery.
• Supports information management, operational reporting, and coordination processes relating to Mission support activities involving civilian, police, and military support components.
• Assists in monitoring incidents, operational developments, and support-related issues that may affect Mission support activities and continuity of operations.
• Supports the preparation of operational support updates, situation reports, briefing materials, and related coordination products for Mission leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Assists in maintaining coordination and liaison with Mission components and relevant stakeholders to support integrated operational support activities within the Mission area.

Specific Responsibilities

• Supports the collection, consolidation, analysis, and dissemination of operational support information relating to Mission sustainment and integrated support activities.
• Assists in monitoring and tracking incidents, operational developments, and support-related issues that may affect Mission support operations and operational continuity.
• Supports the preparation and dissemination of situation reports (SITREPs), operational support updates, briefing materials, dashboards, and other coordination products.
• Assists in maintaining situational awareness relating to Mission support activities through information gathering, monitoring tools, and coordination with Mission components.
• Supports coordination and information sharing between civilian, police, and military support components to facilitate integrated Mission support operations.
• Assists in monitoring the status of critical Mission support functions, including logistics, transport, engineering, communications, medical support, and other operational support services.
• Supports crisis monitoring and coordination activities relating to emergencies, incidents, disruptions, or operational contingencies affecting Mission support operations.
• Assists in maintaining operational support records, databases, information management tools, and reporting systems relevant to JSOC activities.
• Supports meetings, briefings, coordination activities, and operational support planning processes involving Mission support stakeholders.
• Assists in preparing analytical summaries and inputs relating to operational support trends, gaps, and emerging issues affecting Mission sustainment and service delivery.
• Maintains effective liaison and coordination with relevant Mission components and support stakeholders in support of integrated operational support activities.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience

• Master’s degree (Bac + 5) in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Management, Peace and Security Studies, International Relations, or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in Mission support operations, integrated operational support coordination, logistics coordination, operations centres, or field mission support environments.

Or

• Bachelor’s degree (Bac + 3) in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Management, Peace and Security Studies, International Relations, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in Mission support operations, integrated operational support coordination, logistics coordination, operations centres, or field mission support environments.
• Experience in AU, UN, or other international field missions, particularly in conflict or post-conflict environments, is desirable.
• Experience working in Joint Support Operations Centres (JSOC), Mission Support Centres, Operations Centres, or integrated support coordination environments is desirable.
• Experience in operational reporting, information management, situation monitoring, crisis coordination, or support coordination activities is desirable.
• Experience coordinating with civilian, police, and military components in integrated operational support environments is an added advantage.
• Experience in the use of information management tools, operational reporting systems, databases, and standard Microsoft Office applications is desirable.

REMUNERATION:
