About Somalia

Somalia is located in the Horn of Africa and has a growing job market, particularly in the humanitarian, development, and private sectors. Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering or related field.

3–5 years’ experience in engineering design, construction supervision, and project management.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety standards.

Experience in humanitarian or development projects in Somalia is an advantage.

Ability to work in challenging field environments.

Technical Competencies

Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and Civil 3D.

Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety requirements.

Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.

Strong project management skills: planning, coordination, and timely delivery.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging contractors, engineers, and officials.

Problem-solving ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.

Attention to detail in reviewing plans, technical drawings, specifications and contracts.

Sound decision-making on design or material changes.

Flexibility to adapt to evolving regulations and field conditions.

Fluent in written and spoken English
