Job Description

Join International Organization For Migration (IOM) as a International Consultant in Data Visualization, Graphic Design, and Motion Design — this consultant role is based in Djibouti. The role requires a skilled individual with 5 - 6 years of experience in Consultancies or a related field. Applications are open until Sep, 20. Don't miss this opportunity.

Job Description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Djibouti implements a diverse portfolio of projects and activities aimed at supporting national authorities and stakeholders in migration governance and management. These interventions cover, among others, the strengthening of national capacities, the collection and analysis of migration data, support to the development of evidence-based policies, as well as other areas related to migration management and the protection of migrants.

The implementation of these interventions generates a significant volume of data, results and information that can be further leveraged through visual and accessible formats. There is therefore a need to strengthen the tools and materials used to present this information in a clear, engaging manner adapted to the various communication channels, while highlighting IOM's results and the partnerships that support its work. This approach is particularly relevant for the two European Union-funded projects in the area of migration governance and management, which place strong emphasis on data and its valorization. In this context, the consultant will support IOM Djibouti in the design and production of visual content that better presents the data, results and achievements emerging from its various projects and activities. In particular, they will contribute to the creation of data visualizations, graphic materials, infographics and animated and/or motion design content.

The materials developed will be tailored to the needs of the different audiences and communication channels, in particular digital platforms and institutional products. They may target the general Djiboutian

public, and young people aged 18 to 35 in particular, as well as policymakers, experts and regional institutions, civil society actors, journalists and influencers. The scope of the consultancy will therefore cover the design, development and adaptation of visual and animated content, in collaboration with the relevant IOM teams and in line with IOM guidelines and the visibility requirements of its partners. The overall objective of the consultancy is to design and produce a coherent set of data visualization materials and graphic and animated content that make migration data, results and achievements of IOM's interventions in Djibouti more accessible, clear and engaging for different audiences, and to strengthen their promotion within the communication and visibility activities of the Organization and its partners.

2- Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing:

The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Media and Communications Officer of IOM Djibouti, in close coordination with the project teams and the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) team and, where relevant, the IOM Regional Office in Nairobi. IOM will provide the necessary data, texts, key messages, brand guidelines and photographs. The consultant will use their own equipment and software licences. All products developed under this consultancy remain the exclusive property of IOM. The consultant undertakes to comply with IOM's principles on data protection and on the dignified representation of migrants.
