Job Summary
The Innovation & Economic Inclusion Officer will lead the planning, implementation, and
monitoring of innovative livelihood, entrepreneurship, market systems, and economic
resilience interventions under the NAGAASHO Program. The role focuses on implementing
innovative approaches that enhance project delivery, coordination, efficiency, and
effectiveness of the economic domain of NAGAASHO project.
He/She will work closely with NAGAASHO consortium partners, local stakeholders,
government institutions, and community structures to ensure effective implementation of
project activities of the target districts (Erigavo, and Afgoye), and surrounding areas. The
positions will support the creation of economic opportunities for women, youth, and vulnerable
groups through enterprise development, financial inclusion, market linkages, and innovationdriven solutions. Key responsibilities include coordinating field-level implementation, ensuring
quality documentation and reporting, supporting the establishment and training of VSLAs,
facilitating innovation challenges and Kobciye initiatives, strengthening partner collaboration,
and introducing practical tools and approaches that improve program outcomes and
sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
Objective 1. Partnership, Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement 25%
- Support coordination and engagement with NAGAASHO consortium partners, local
authorities, community structures, and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective
implementation of project activities.
- Promote community participation and ownership by ensuring meaningful engagement
of beneficiaries and local leaders in project design, implementation, and monitoring.
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings, training, and learning events with
implementing partners and key stakeholders. Ensure effective communication and
information sharing between field teams, consortium partners, and project
management.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations, coordination meetings, workshops, and exchange
events to promote collaboration and joint planning.
- Support engagement with district government, and local institutions on the realization
of Community Action Plans.
Objective 2: Innovation, Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion 40%
- Lead the implementation of innovative livelihood, entrepreneurship, market systems,
and economic resilience interventions.
- Facilitate establishment and strengthening of VSLAs, business groups, and
community-based economic initiatives.
- Facilitate innovation challenges, Kobciye initiatives, enterprise development activities,
and business incubation support.
- Support access to financial services, market opportunities, and business development
services for women, youth, IDPs, and other vulnerable groups.
- Facilitate meaningful participation of communities in project planning, implementation,
and monitoring.
- Promote inclusive approaches that ensure active engagement of women, youth, IDPs,
persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
- Conduct awareness sessions on entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, innovation, and
economic resilience opportunities.
Objective 3: Accountability, Quality assurance, and Supervision 25%
- Ensure timely, and accurate documentation of project activities, outputs, lessons
learned, and best practices.
- Maintain high-quality project records, beneficiary filling, training reports, and
supporting documentation in line with CARE and donor requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of regular progress reports, success stories,
case studies, and other project deliverables.
- Strengthen accountability mechanisms by promoting community feedback, complaint
response systems, and beneficiary engagement processes.
- Ensure that beneficiary feedback is systematically collected, analyzed, documented,
and integrated into project planning and implementation.
- Support data quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and
reliability of project information.
- Support data collection, analysis, and monitoring of innovation and economic inclusion
interventions.
Objective 4: Staff and partner Capacity Building (10%)
- Provide training and coaching to project staff, VSLA coaches on economic inclusion
outputs, including innovation interventions, Kobciye, VSLA methodology, PFS, and
CSA approaches.
- Provide continuous coaching and technical support to Village Agents to ensure
effective establishment, facilitation, and sustainability of VSLAs and incomegenerating activities.
- Plan and deliver structured training sessions for Community Committees, district
community structures. an
- Support additional CJFW-related activities, workshops, and project interventions as
assigned by the supervisor, ensuring alignment with program priorities and delivery
standards.
