WRRS works across multiple sectors including Health, Nutrition, WASH, Protection, Food Security, Peacebuilding, and Resilience, with a strong focus on women, children, internally displaced persons, and marginalized groups. WRRS is seeking a qualified, motivated, and energetic Health and Nutrition Project Officer Intern to support the implementation of health and nutrition interventions in Lower Juba Region. This internship is intended for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is passionate about public health, community nutrition, and humanitarian programming and is looking to gain practical experience in project planning, field implementation, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Position Summary The Health and Nutrition Project Officer Intern will support the design, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of health and nutrition project activities in Lower Juba Region. Under the supervision of the Head of Programs Unit, the intern will contribute to community-based health and nutrition interventions, support field teams, assist in project documentation, and help strengthen coordination with health facilities, communities, and local authorities. This role offers a valuable learning opportunity in humanitarian programme management and provides practical exposure to integrated health and nutrition programming in fragile and underserved settings. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Applicants should meet the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Community Health, Project Management, or a related field. Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior internship, volunteer, or field experience in health, nutrition, or humanitarian programming is an added advantage. Basic understanding of health and nutrition issues affecting vulnerable communities in Somalia. Strong interest in humanitarian and development work. Good report writing, communication, and organizational skills. Basic computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work in multicultural and challenging field environments. Fluency in Somali is required; working knowledge of English is an added advantage.
