Position : GBV Social Worker Location : Jowhar -Hirshabelle State-Somalia Responsible to : GBV Officer Job Summary: The GBV Social worker will be responsible for all GBV case management component of the activities; GBV Social workers will support the successful implementation of all Response, psychosocial activities, and will be responsible for the provision of quality psychosocial first Aid, case management including direct counseling to GBV survivors. In collaboration with the Project officer and Project Coordinator. The GBV Social workers will support in the provision of training and supervising GBV Community Workers to === Skills & Qualifications === QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Public/Community Health or related field from a recognized institution. • Minimum 2 years work experience in GBV, child protection or social work with a demonstrated focus on GBV program design and implementation • Good understanding and experience of working in Middle Shabelle, especially Jowhar, is a definite advantage. • Verbal fluency in English and Somali language. • Knowledge of community-based child/GBV protection approaches, preferably including experience in participatory approaches and child participation methodologies. • Basic familiarity with MS application packages (Word, Excel and database software) and willingness to develop further. • Sound knowledge of gender issues in humanitarian settings, particularly GBV, including relevant international human rights, principles and established international standards (i.e: CPIMS, GBVIMS, etc.).
