GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Office Operational Driver Support is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely

transportation services for staff, visitors, and organizational goods while supporting the daytoday operational, administrative, procurement, and logistics functions of the organization. The

position ensures assigned vehicles are maintained in good working condition, all vehicle records

are properly completed, and transportation services are delivered efficiently in accordance with

organizational policies and traffic regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Driving License appropriate for the assigned vehicle (Level B, C).
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional driving experience.
  • Experience driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Good knowledge of Somaliland road networks and traffic regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively advocates for quality participant safety and satisfaction as a daily practice
  • Transport staff, visitors, office supplies, and project materials as authorized.
  • Support office operations by given official Assignments.
  • Ensure quality and timely driving management, safe and on time
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after each trip.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
  • Monitor fuel, engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, tire pressure, & other vehicle requirements.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage, fuel consumption Daily.
  • Report accidents, breakdowns, damages, or mechanical defects immediately.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and servicing schedules are followed.
  • Safeguard vehicle documents, keys, tools, spare tire, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and

other vehicle accessories.

  • Observe all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational transport policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while transporting staff and visitors.
  • Support field missions and organizational events when required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent driving and defensive driving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honest, responsible, and trustworthy.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and willing to travel to field locations.
  • Ability to work outside normal office hours when operationally required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sits, stands, and walks intermittently throughout the day.
  • Squats or kneels and lifts objects from ground occasionally.
  • Must be able to climb stairs to get in and out of vehicle • Full extension of arms above

head and in front of body.

  • Must be non-chewing Khat, non-smoking and physical fit to do this job
