A360 Amplify Close-Out Documentary and Photography - PSI’s flagship youth contraceptive program 1. BACKGROUND About Population Services International (PSI) PSI is a non-profit organization working to improve the health of poor and vulnerable people around the world. Together with partners, we transform health by tackling the root causes preventing people and their communities from achieving and maintaining good, quality, and affordable health. About A360 Across disciplines and in partnership with young people, A360 supports governments to increase the demand for and voluntary uptake of modern contraceptives among adolescent girls 15-19-years-old across Nigeria, Ethiopia and Kenya. The project is led by PSI and co-funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). 2. SCOPE OVERVIEW A360 is commissioning a documentary and updated photography portfolio to capture the Amplify close-out story across Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. The documentary will highlight the project’s journey and impact, told through the voices and experiences of adolescents. These products will be showcased at the national and global close-out webinars and shared across all A360 platforms, including the website and social media. 3. REQUIREMENTS The consultant should have proven experience in documentary production and photography, with a strong portfolio showcasing work in international development or social impact projects. They should demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver end-to-end productions, including storyboarding, interviewing, filming, and editing. Strong skills in visual storytelling, an eye for capturing authentic moments, and the capacity to reflect a bold, fresh, and youthful brand are essential. Familiarity with working across multiple countries and cultures, particularly in Africa and in the SRHR space, is highly desirable. 4. DELIVERABLES Photos A minimum of 30 high-resolution, professionally edited photographs featuring adolescents, beneficiaries, key activities, and contextual shots. The photos should be diverse, authentic, and suitable for use across digital platforms, print, and presentations. Videos One three-minute video capturing A360’s story and impact in Kenya. One consolidated cross-country documentary (max 6 minutes) focused on the A360 Phase II close-out , showcasing experiences, learnings, and impact across Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. Consultant will be provided with footage from outside Kenya and will only travel subject to discussion. One A360 10-Year Impact Video Edit – a dynamic, high-level piece highlighting the programme’s decade-long journey, achievements, and legacy. This video will draw from interviews, archival footage, and visuals provided by PSI, and will be positioned for external audiences, including partners and donors. It will be showcased during the 10-year close-out webinar and shared widely across all A360/PSI platforms. Content: Interviews with a few participants as listed in the document. In collaboration with the A360 team, develop a script for the documentary and short video. In collaboration with A360 team, conduct field visits to collect footage. All field related costs will be covered by A360. Submit the edited documentary through email and Flash Disc in HD MP4 formats. Featured Elements and Voices The videos should bring to life the Amplify close-out story through diverse perspectives and rich visual elements. Key components to feature include: Adolescents – Primary voices, sharing their experiences, challenges, and the impact of A360 in their lives. Service providers – Health workers and mentors who supported adolescents through the programme. Parents/Guardians – Where relevant, to provide context on community and family support. Implementing partners – Voices from A360 teams and partners reflecting on learnings and achievements. B-roll footage – Authentic shots of adolescents in everyday settings, programme activities, health facilities, and community life. Contextual visuals – Wide shots of locations across Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Ethiopia to ground the stories in their settings. Graphics/branding – Integration of A360 brand elements to maintain a bold, fresh, and youthful identity. 5. TIMELINE To have 30 Photos and one Kenya close out video by 30 October 2025 from Kilifi, Migori, Homabay and Narok. One consolidated cross-country documentary by 14 November 2025 . A360 10-Year Impact Video Edit by 30 November 2025 . The consultant shall commence the work as soon as possible and in consideration of the strict and short timelines. A detailed timeline, work plan and draft outline should be submitted within 3 days after award. The rough cut of every phase of the documentary should be provided to A360 for review, comments, and approval. The final products i.e., the photos, documentary, videos as well as all the raw footage and project files, should be delivered to A360 no later than the agreed date after the completion of the assignment. Travel and use of Footage The consultant will be required to travel in Kenya to produce the independent Kenya video. For the consolidated documentary covering Nigeria, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, the consultant will be provided with A360 footage and photography. They will be expected to edit, adapt, and weave this material into a compelling narrative. Additional travel to other A360 locations will not be expected, except where deemed necessary and agreed upon in consultation with the A360 team. A360 Project shall cater for all logistics cost where relevant 6. BID PREPARATION Bidders should submit their responses to this RFP to include: Preliminary Requirements Technical Proposal Financial Proposal Preliminary requirements Bidders are required to submit certified copies of statutory documents listed below: Certificate of Registration/Incorporation Tax Compliance Certificate CR12 Form Individual Consultants to only provide KRA Tax Compliance Certificate Technical Proposal Your proposal should have a section addressing the following areas: Approach & Responsiveness to the Scope of Work Responses should include the following information: with reference to evaluation criteria; Describe your experience dealing with the provision of videography and photography services (refer to SOW) Describe your capacity to deliver on the assignment. Provide a link with detailed track record of similar previous work undertaken. Financial Proposal Financial bid shall contain the following information: Pricing details/breakdown The rates MUST be in KES. The proposed rates shall be inclusive of all applicable taxes. 7. EVALUATION CRITERIA The technical evaluation will be on the basis of a point - system out of a maximum 80. Proposals that score at least 70 points at this stage of evaluation will proceed to the next stage. 1. Approach and Responsiveness to the SOW based on the proposal provided. Demonstrate Innovative and creative approach to photography/video production. (30MKs) 2. Quality of previous work executed (based on submitted samples) provide 3 links of work done. (30MKs) 3. Experience and performance based on clients of similar size and complexity. (20MKs) Provide three (3) POs of similar work done in the last 3 years. Provide two (2) recommendation letters from your clients in last 2 years. PROPOSAL GUIDELINES We respect your time, and we prefer brevity.
