The Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD) is looking for a Communications officer to help us amplify the voices of the communities we serve and tell the stories that drive change. Role Overview: As a Communications officer, you will support the development and execution of digital and offline communication strategies that increase visibility, enhance stakeholder engagement, and promote CDTD’s programs and impact. You will work closely with the teams to ensure timely, creative, and strategic dissemination of content across multiple platforms. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop visually compelling content using tools like Canva and AI-powered platforms Manage CDTD’s social media accounts (Meta, LinkedIn, X) with consistency and creativity Draft, edit, and proofread communication materials such as newsletters, reports, social media posts, and blogs Assist in developing media kits, success stories, and digital campaigns Support internal and external communications, including donor updates and event coverage Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize performance Ensure brand consistency, accuracy, and ethical standards in all communication outputs Contribute to concept development for events, advocacy campaigns, and publications Required Qualifications & Skills: A degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field At least 1year of experience in communications role in non-profit or development sectors. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills Proven experience in managing and growing organizational social media platforms Strong working knowledge of Canva, basic design tools, and familiarity with AI-powered content generation tools A creative mind with a sharp eye for detail and visual storytelling Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and multitask under pressure High ethical standards and sound judgment in handling sensitive content Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Bonus Skills (Desirable but not mandatory): Experience in photography, video editing, or animation Familiarity with email marketing tools like Mailchimp or Substack Basic knowledge of advocacy communication and rights-based messaging Resource mobilization and fundraising experience is an added advantage Why Join Us?
