About the Opportunity
Merit Advisory Services LLP invites applications from motivated, talented, and ambitious individuals for the position of Business Development Intern, based in our Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Garowe, and Bosaso
offices. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience within a fast-growing professional advisory firm, working alongside experienced consultants, accountants, and technology specialists on live client engagements.
Over the course of the internship, the successful candidate will be immersed in the full business development cycle. The intern will work closely with senior business development and advisory staff, gaining direct mentorship and regular feedback throughout the placement.
This internship is designed as a launchpad: strong performers will gain exposure across Merit Advisory's service lines, build a professional network within Somalia's public and private sector, and be considered for future opportunities with the firm as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Development Intern will gain practical experience across Merit Advisoryβs business development functions, including:
- Sales: Research potential clients and opportunities, support proposals and pitches, maintain the sales pipeline/CRM, follow up on leads, and monitor tenders and partnership opportunities.
- Marketing: Conduct market research, support marketing campaigns, prepare promotional materials, and coordinate business development events and client meetings.
- Customer Service: Respond to client inquiries, coordinate with technical teams, maintain client records, gather feedback, and support resolution of client concerns.
- Digital Marketing : Support social media management, website updates, email marketing, analytics, SEO, and other online visibility activities.
- Content Creation: Develop and edit articles, social media posts, case studies, presentations, infographics, and other marketing content.
- Reporting & Support: Assist with business development reports, pipeline tracking, research, and administrative support to senior staff.
