Assignment Summary. Country/Region Uganda Partner Organisation Christian Blind Mission - CBM Planned Documentary start date September 2025 Purpose of the Assignment The purpose of this assignment is to produce a set of high-quality video documentaries that capture and communicate CBM’s partner impact in Uganda. The videos will serve as powerful tools for advocacy, awareness-raising, and fundraising, targeting both local and international audiences. Background CBM is a Christian international development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world irrespective of race, gender, or religious belief. CBM’s approach to Disability-inclusive Development is the framework of all its initiatives and the key theme that drives activities and the impact of its work. It believes that this is the most effective way to bring positive change to the lives of people with disabilities living in poverty and their communities. Through our disability-inclusive development approach, we address the barriers that hinder access and participation and actively seek to ensure the full participation of people with disabilities as empowered self-advocates in all development and emergency response processes. CBM in partnership with local organisations across Uganda, has been working to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities and other marginalised groups. Through interventions in physical rehabilitation, inclusive eye health, and community empowerment, CBM has supported transformative changes that have positively impacted individuals, families, and communities. To better capture and share these success stories, CBM seeks to develop a series of short, compelling video documentaries showcasing real-life beneficiary journeys, highlighting the tangible results of our programmes, and demonstrating the collaborative impact with our local partners. 2. Objectives of the Assignment. Document authentic and inspiring success stories from beneficiaries of CBM-supported partner projects. Showcase the transformative work of CBM’s local partners in Uganda. Highlight the positive outcomes in the following thematic areas: Physical rehabilitation Inclusive eye health Community empowerment (including economic inclusion through VSLA) Provide CBM with high-quality, versatile video content for use on various communication platforms. 3. Roles & Responsibilities CBM will: Provide background information and coordinate with partner organisations. Facilitate access to project sites and beneficiaries. Review and approve storyboards, scripts, and final videos. The Consultant/Production Team will: Plan and execute all filming and editing activities. Ensure informed consent is obtained from all participants. Deliver outputs in line with agreed quality and brand guidelines of CBM. Ensure all filming equipment, transport, and logistics are managed. Specific Tasks the consultant : Develop a detailed filming and production plan in consultation with CBM. Travel to partner locations to capture interviews, activities, and environments. Film direct testimonies from beneficiaries and stakeholders. Capture contextual footage (B-roll) to enhance storytelling. Produce short videos segmented by theme (e.g., eye health, rehabilitation, VSLA impact). Edit and finalise videos in line with CBM’s communication and branding standards. Deliver videos optimised for multiple formats (online platforms, presentations, events etc). 4. Scope of the assessment 4.1 Stakeholders The consultant will work closely with all partners, including the CBM and (partner organisations) and (relevant local government/non-government agencies). He/she will report to the CBM team (and Director). The consultant will execute his/her mission in complete independence and will receive only general instructions by CBM, justified by the necessities of the independent collaboration between the parties and the orderly execution of the confined tasks. 4.2 Target Partners & Focus Areas Katalemwa Cheshire Home – Physical rehabilitation services NUDIPU – Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) & inclusion Mengo Eye Hospital – Inclusive eye health & CBM scholarship support Ruharo Mission Hospital – Retinoblastoma treatment services CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital – Orthopaedic & rehabilitation services CEFORD – Inclusive Humanitarian work (Refugee settlement and HC) BEH Tororo - Paediatric eye health 4.3 Geographical Scope The study shall be carried out in different districts in Uganda. 4.4 Methodology The documentation will adopt a video-centric storytelling approach, focusing on: On-site and field Filming: Capturing authentic stories within the context of each partner’s work. Segmented Storytelling: Short, thematic videos to maximise audience engagement. Editing for Emotional and Visual Impact: Incorporating subtitles, music, and branding as per CBM’s guidelines. Collaborative Review: Draft versions will be shared with CBM for feedback before final delivery. 5. Deliverables and schedule 5.1 Deliverables Filming Plan & Storyboard – submitted and approved prior to production. Providing raw footage and project files – unedited material from all interviews and activities. Edited Videos - categorised by theme. One Highlight Roll - summarising CBM’s overall impact in Uganda. Delivering 5–6 short thematic videos (4–5 minutes each) in high-resolution formats suitable. Videos delivered in multiple formats suitable for web, social media, and offline use. 5.2 Time Frame and schedule The assignment is expected to take approximately two (2) Months from the start date. The study is expected to start on September 29th 2025, taking 60 days. An itemized action plan should be submitted with the expression of interest. 6. Application and selection procedure 6.1 Skills and Experience of Study Team The consultant/production team should have the following attributes among others: Proven experience in producing professional documentary videos. Strong storytelling and editing skills. Portfolio of similar work (preferably in development or humanitarian sectors) Capacity to travel and film across multiple locations in Uganda. Ability to capture emotionally engaging content sensitively and ethically. Experience working with NGOs and on social impact stories (preferred).

6.2 Expression of Interest The consultant is expected to submit a technical and financial proposal including - a description of the consultancy firm, - CV of suggested team members, - an outline of the understanding of these TORs and suggested methodology, and - a detailed work plan for the entire assignment. - A detailed budget for the expected assignment shall include all costs expected to conduct a disability inclusive assignment, and taxes according to the rules and regulations of the consultants’ local tax authorities. CBM reserves the right to terminate the contract in case the agreed consultant/s are unavailable at the start or during the assignment.
