Position: Management Information System (MIS) Manager, AIM Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya About the Role: As a key member of the AIM central (regional) team member, the position holder will support the development and implementation of AIM programme, manual and digital (BInsight) programme management information system. The Mastercard Foundation Accelerating Impact for Young Women (AIM) in Partnership with BRAC is equipping 2 million adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) with age-appropriate entrepreneurship, employability, and life-skills training, as well as the tools to start and scale their own businesses. The nine-year program (2021-2030) applies BRAC’s proven model using microfinance, youth empowerment, agriculture and skills development to improve lives and livelihoods. It currently operates in seven African countries: Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Kenya. Key Responsibilities: Technical Support and System Development Play the focal/ambassador role in implementing and using the AIM program’s digital (BInsight) and manual MIS. Coordinate with the AIM Central programme team, BI IT and BI T4D to develop and enhance the AIM MIS systems and tools. Assist with the building and communication of the business requirement specifications and other technical documents to the digital MIS vendor, BI IT and BI T4D. Ensure testing of new digital (BInsight) and manual modules and/or forms and provide feedback before rolling out the modules/forms. Ensure the MIS systems are aligned with the AIM programme needs and are user-friendly. Promptly liaise with the BI IT and/or vendor to resolve any system-related issues impacting the use of the MIS, report delivery or data integrity. Support the AIM programme team in designing and developing data collection, reporting, presentation tools, templates and protocols. Develop digital and manual data collection forms for the programme when needed. Troubleshoot MIS issues, manage and respond to issues logged in JIRA helpdesk and other tracking systems, issue prioritisation, and work on the escalation matrix. Data Quality, Reporting and Analysis Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to support business operations and decision-making. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable recommendations based on findings. Present data and insights to management in a clear and concise manner. Help with data cleansing/cleaning and transformation for reporting and analysis. Generate visualization products such as dashboards, maps, charts and infographics that show findings, summarized and customized information for internal and external presentations. Follow-up with AIM Country teams regularly so that they can ensure timely and high-quality programmatic data entry and reporting in the MIS Collaborate closely with the AIM team to ensure the data displayed in BInsight reports & dashboards is representative and similar to the actuals and what is being reported in key AIM reports or communications internally and externally. Carry out regular data quality checks on the AIM programme MIS and support the AIM programme and MEL team in the implementation of data verification and quality audits. User Support and Training Provide training and support to the AIM Country teams on MIS systems and tools including delivery of online and/or in person trainings, coaching, and mentoring. Support to develop, test and implement user manuals and guidelines to facilitate effective use of MIS resources. Assist the AIM programme team in understanding and interpreting data and reports to pick the right insights. Communicate updates or changes in digital (BInsight) and manual MIS modules promptly to the country teams. Compliance & Security In collaboration with the AIM country MIS officers, and IT team, ensure compliance with governmental and donor data protection regulations and organisation policies. Implement security measures to protect data from unauthorized access and breaches. Continuous Improvement Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in MIS and data management. Identify opportunities for process improvements and MIS enhancements. Collect user feedback to identify opportunities for system enhancements. Further, proactively suggest and implement improvements to the MIS to enhance data quality, management, and reporting. Other relevant duties as maybe assigned by the supervisor. Safeguarding responsibilities: Ensure the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the project goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment. Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place; encourage others to do so. Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management Systems/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Project Management, or a related field. Optional: Professional certification in MIS, data analysis, or a related field (desired). Required Skills, Competencies & Knowledge: Business Competencies: Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting. Problem Solving: Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies. Training & Facilitation Skills: Ability to identify capacity gaps and conduct capacity-building training in diverse countries and cultural contexts. Functional Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse group of team members and stakeholders. Strong technical skills in MIS systems, databases, data analysis tools, and report writing. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Proficiency in BIG data management. Experience working in integrated social development programming is a plus (desired). Experience Requirements: Three (3) years of relevant work experience in MIS, data management, or a related role. Optional: Professional certification in MIS, data analysis, or a related field (desired).
