Position: Project Officer (Open for the locals only)

Project Implementation
- Ensure compliance in project implementation in accordance with quality standards, organization policies and donor policies.
- Support the project manager in delivering specialized training focused on the operation and maintenance of MAR systems, water resource management, and data monitoring.
- Support the project manager in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of MAR practices, sharing real-time data collection and analysis.
- Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to utility staff post-training to ensure effective implementation of learned skills.
- Ensure knowledge transfer to enhance local capacity for managing and monitoring water resources.
- Generate monthly project activity reports presented to arche noVa Program team.
- Ensure all supporting documents (training reports, beneficiary training lists, beneficiary participation lists, vouchers etc) are prepared according agreed standards.

Community engagement and Mobilization
- Identify key community stakeholders, including local leaders, women's groups, youth organizations, and other relevant community members. Establish strong relationships with these groups to facilitate open communication and trust.
- Organize community meetings to introduce the MAR project, its objectives, and potential benefits.
- Encourage community involvement in project planning and decision-making processes, ensuring that local voices are heard and valued.
- Develop and implement feedback mechanisms to gather community input on project activities and expectations.
- Use feedback to inform project adjustments and address community concerns effectively.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to promote stakeholder involvement and investment in the project.
- Develop training materials and programs tailored to the needs of local community members.

Coordination and Communication
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with line ministries, local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with water utility management to identify MAR training needs for their staff.
- Participate and represent AN in all coordination forums happening in Dollow
4.Reporting

Prepare regular progress reports.

Document lessons learned and best practices for future reference and scaling.

Any other duties as assigned by the project manager or Program Officer or the Program Coordinator.
Qualification
-
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geoscience, Water Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in WASH projects, preferably in humanitarian and development contexts in Somalia with Proven experience in similar position.
Skills
-
Strong background in Humanitarian/Development programing and International Relations is required.

Strong understanding of WASH principles, including water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion.

Extensive experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building and community engagement.

Knowledge and experience with participative methodologies for community engagement and with qualitative methods to gather data such as Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews.

Understanding and experience with conflict -prevention and -resolution, e.g. Do-No-Harm.

Excellent communication capacities.

Excellent in English and Somali (written & oral)
