N/A 1. Purpose of consultancyThe main purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical assistance to the WHO Country Office on Warehouse management, including inventory recording and tracking2. Background: Somalia is one of the most fragile countries in Africa, and despite some improvements realized in the past few years, the country continues to experience insecurity caused by armed conflict and natural disasters affecting the public health in the country. WHO in Somalia provides medical supplies and equipment to the Ministry of Health and Partners to respond to the protracted emergency and to contribute to health systems building. These supplies and equipment are maintained in three WHO warehouses in Mogadishu, Garowe and Hargeisa before last mile delivery to recipients. To improve the performance of warehouse specifically on inventory recording and tracking, the WHO Country Office seeks to recruit a short-term consultant to support in the development and implementation of appropriate SOPs that will ensure accurate recording and monitoring of inventory including tracking mechanisms after dispatch. 3. Planned timelines Start date: 10th May 2026End date: 9th Nov 2026 4. Deliverables: The incumbent will perform the following activities: Output 1: Up-to-date warehouse inventory records Deliverable 1.1.: Inventory records in BMS system up to date for all three warehouses Deliver === Skills & Qualifications === Qualifications, experience, skills, and languages Educational Qualifications: Essential: University degree in public or business administration, logistics management, engineering, or related fields from an accredited/recognized institute. Desirable: Professional certification/qualification in areas such as transport, distribution, and supply chain management. Degree or training in information management systems and their application to logistic, transport or supply management and monitoring. Experience: At least five years’ related experience, at the national and international levels, in managing emergency logistics and supply chain including warehousing operations in international organizations/institutions, part of which in the field supporting emergency humanitarian operations. Desirable: Prior working experience with WHO, UN agencies, health clusters partners, recognized humanitarian organizations or with an international nongovernmental organization. Qualifications, experience, skills, and languages Educational Qualifications: Essential: University degree in public or business administration, logistics management, engineering, or related fields from an accredited/recognized institute. Desirable: Professional certification/qualification in areas such as transport, distribution, and supply chain management. Degree or training in information management systems and their application to logistic, transport or supply management and monitoring. All travel arrangements will be made by WHO: WHO will not be responsible for tickets purchased by the Consultant without the express, prior authorization of WHO. While on mission under the terms of this consultancy, the Consultant will receive a subsistence allowance.
