A Lab Technician position is currently open at Somaliland Family Health Association (SOFHA) with the duty station in Marodijeh. Organizational BackgroundSOFHA is a national non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established toimprove the health and well-being of communities in Somaliland. Since 2009, SOFHA has beenactively engaged in promoting SRHR through the provision of clinical services, communityhealth education, nutrition programs, capacity building of healthcare workers, and advocacyinitiatives.SOFHA is implementing a Health Systems Strengthening Project in partnership with theMinistry of Health Development (MOHD) with funding from Takeda through PlanInternational. The project aims to strengthen access to quality health services throughoutreach and mobile clinic activities in underserved communities.Overall Job PurposeThe Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory diagnostic proceduresthat support clinical services provided through mobile outreach clinics. The position ensuresaccurate laboratory testing, proper sample management, and quality control in compliancewith national laboratory standards and SOFHA health policies.The Laboratory Technician will work closely with mobile clinic staff including doctors, nurses,midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely diagnosis and appropriatepatient management. The position requires experience working in remote outreach settings,strong teamwork, and the ability to resolve operational or interpersonal challenges througheffective conflict resolution and communication skills.Title of the Posts Lab Technician one positionLocation Remote areasDuration One year with possible of extensionDate of issued 19th April, 2026Closing date 30th April ,2026.Duties and responsibilities Work closely with mobile clinic team members including doctors, nurses, midwives,and other health staff to support quality patient care. Collaborate with field project teams, community health workers, local partners, localcouncils, and community leaders to ensure effective outreach service delivery. Receive, labe === Skills & Qualifications === Qualification, Education and Work Experience required Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical LaboratoryTechnology. Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in laboratory services. Previous experience working in mobile clinics, outreach programs, or remotehealthcare areas is highly desirable. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of laboratory diagnostic procedures and medical technology services. Experience in community engagement, mobilization, and capacity building is anadvantage. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability and willingness to work in remote rural areas including overnight stays. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Familiarity with local community culture and context. Fluency --- About Marodijeh --- Somalia is located in the Horn of Africa and has a growing job market, particularly in the humanitarian, development, and private sectors. Qualifications & Requirements

Qualification, Education and Work Experience required Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical LaboratoryTechnology. Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in laboratory services. Previous experience working in mobile clinics, outreach programs, or remotehealthcare areas is highly desirable. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of laboratory diagnostic procedures and medical technology services. Experience in community engagement, mobilization, and capacity building is anadvantage. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability and willingness to work in remote rural areas including overnight stays. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Familiarity with local community culture and context. Fluency in Somali and working knowledge of English is desirable. Good computer skills, including data entry and reporting
