SOS Childrens Villages International, based in Hirshabelle State Of Somalia, is looking for an experienced Psychosocial Counselor PSS (Adalle) to fill an open position. Candidates should bring 2 - 3 years of hands-on experience, preferably in the Health/wash sector. The closing date for this vacancy is Apr, 25. Position : Psychosocial Counselor PSS (1 Position) Location : Adalle-Hirshabelle State Responsible to : CP/GBV Project Coordinator Job Summary: The Psychosocial Counselor (PSS) is responsible for providing quality, survivor-centered psychosocial support and counselling services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). The role focuses on promoting mental well-being, strengthening resilience, and ensuring safe, confidential, and ethical service delivery in line with GBV guiding principles. Under the supervision of the CP/GBV Coordinator, the Psychosocial Counselors: Coordinates, Supervises & Manages provision of GBV === Skills & Qualifications === QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Psychology, Social Work or other Social Science related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience in providing psychosocial counseling to survivors of GBV or mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). • Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali language • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including empathic listening • Ability to communicate in a highly professional manner with clients, community members and professional partners. • Sound knowledge of gender issues in humanitarian settings, particularly GBV, including relevant international human rights, principles and established international standards (i.e: CPMS, GBVIMS, etc.) • Able to complete required reporting and documentation within the set deadlines • Highly motivated, creative, and compassionate person who is dedicated to ensuring that models of best practice are utilized. Qualifications & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Psychology, Social Work or other Social Science related field.
