JOB TITLE: Education Programme OfficerTEAM/PROGRAMME: Child Development and Child Protection LOCATION: GaroweGRADE: 4 TYPE OF CONTRACT:NationalCHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder tohave regular contact with or access to children or young peopleROLE PURPOSE:The postholder will execute assigned tasks from the supervisor to deliver integrated education andemergency child protection activities at the community level, enhancing protective factors forchildren affected by humanitarian crises. Key responsibilities include:• Ensuring equitable and inclusive access to education for all children.• Establishing referral pathways for children with protection concerns.• Upholding the Save the Children Quality Learning Framework (QLF) in project management.• Providing psychosocial support to improve children's learning outcomes.• Implementing the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) framework to meet minimum servicerequirements and enhance the well-being and safety of vulnerable children.Collaboration with community education committees, protection focal points, and education clusterrepresentatives is essential for delivering cohesive support to children and families. The postholderwill mentor and coach teachers, develop corrective actions to improve learning outcomes, and providesupervisory guidance to education assistants, volunteers, and education officers to achieve literacyand numeracy goals.SCOPE OF ROLE:Reports to: Education Programme Coordinator,Dimensions: works with the Child Development and Child Protection Sector.KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:Programme Planning and Quality Implementation• Adapt and maintain quality benchmarks and measurable outcomes for community activitiesaimed at improving children’s well-being and environmental• Align community training initiatives, teacher development, and thematic education guidelineswith project result indicators and community needs assessments.• Implement Save the Children’s transforma === Skills & Qualifications === QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor’s degree in education, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field (master’spreferred).• Minimum of three years in education or child development, particularly in emergencies orhumanitarian contexts.• Strong competencies in teacher professional development and coaching.• Knowledge of child protection principles and practices.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to collaborate in multicultural environments.• Knowledge of education policies and strategies, especially related to primary education.• Understanding of issues affecting women and children in accessing quality education.• Familiarity with various primary education strategies (formal and non-formal) and learnercentred methodologies, lesson planning, assessment techniques, and co-curricular activities.• Experience in community mobilization, school management, and leadership.• Proven ability to manage a challenging workload --- About Garowe --- Garowe is the administrative capital of the Puntland State of Somalia. Qualifications & Requirements
