Somalia-based Secours Islamique France (SIF) is looking to fill the role of Project Officer - Emergency Response. For over 30 years, SIF has delivered emergency relief, development programs, and advocacy worldwide, guided by the principles of impartiality and dignity. Active in Somalia since 2012, the Kenya & Somalia Mission implements high-impact programs primarily in Kismayo and the Jubaland State, as well as other crisis-affected regions. These interventions focus on supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable host communities through: Food Security & Livelihoods: Improving resilience for agro-pastoral and fishing communities through cash transfers, agricultural inputs, and value chain development. Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH): Providing life-saving access to clean water and emergency sanitation facilities in high-need IDP sites. Education & Child Welfare: Enhancing the well-being and protection of children affected by protracted conflict and climate shocks. SIF collaborates closely with local partners and authorities to provide an integrated humanitarian-development response that strengthens community resilience against recurring droughts and floods. The Kenya & Somalia Mission implements programs aimed at supporting vulnerable communities in: Education & Child Welfare Food Security & Livelihoods Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) About the Role SIF is seeking an experienced and driven Project Officer (Emergency Response) to support the implementation of a multi-sector emergency project targeting drought-affected communities and internally displaced persons (IDPs). The role focuses on project coordination, partner support, technical oversight, and field monitoring, ensuring timely, high-quality, and compliant delivery of interventions across Food Security, Nutrition, and WASH sectors. The Project Officer will serve as a key operational link between SIF, local partners, communities, and humanitarian coordination platforms. K === Skills & Qualifications === Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Agriculture, or related field (Master’s is an advantage) Minimum 4 years’ experience in humanitarian or emergency programming Experience in Somalia or similar fragile contexts strongly preferred. Knowledge of project cycle management, M&E, and donor-funded programs Experience with tools such as Kobo Collect, ODK, or GIS is an asset. Skills and Core Competencies Strong coordination and project management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities High level of organization and attention to detail Ability to work in high-pressure, multicultural environments. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) Fluency in English and Somali Safeguarding and Ethical Standards This role involves direct and regular contact with children, including highly vulnerable groups.
