BackgroundThe PBF-Wadajir Nabadeed trust, Justice and security in the newly recovered areas signifies a joint effort for peace across different ministries of Federal Member States and the Federal Government of Somalia as well as local administrations, fostering partnership between communities and authorities, and integrating existing capacities of the UN system to support Government efforts in areas newly recovered from Al-Shabaab. It takes an integrated, inclusive, government-led, community-driven approach to strengthening interim administration/foundational local governance, interim security, and restorative justice through participatory decision-making and collaboration between local communities and state authorities. It aims to support the Government of Somalia, Federal Member States and the Somali people in implementing the National Reconciliation Framework and National Stabilization Strategy by building sustainable peace, nurturing a social contract and enabling future development, sustainable government presence and the provision of services.The project will prioritize the active participation of women, young people, children, persons withdisabilities, minorities and marginalized groups through an inclusive and transparent dialogue withauthorities leading the process, engaging all societal groups to take ownership of peace andsecurity in their areas. Required QualificationsEducation• Minimum: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in law and Peacebuilding / Conflict ResolutionExperience• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in:o Community engagemento Peacebuilding or conflict resolutiono Justice or rule of law programming• Experience working with:o Government institutionso NGOs or UN-supported projects are an assetTechnical Competencies• Knowledge of:o Somalia justice systemo Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)Skills• Strong interpersonal and communication skills• Ability to mobilize and engage communities• Facilitation and coordination skills• Strong organizational and reporting abilities• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)6. Language Requirements• Fluency in Somali (mandatory)• Working knowledge of English (Required)7.
